I love sailing at BBYC! The club has everything you could hope for—friendly people, a welcoming atmosphere, and great facilities that make it easy to get out on the water, whether you’re racing, cruising, or simply enjoying the bay.

I started as a new sailor, building my skills by crewing in Friday twilight races. From there, I learned to trim a spinnaker during bay races and even had a go at helming on the way home. Between racing in all kinds of conditions and joining the local Cruising Division activities, I was well prepared for the incredible adventure of sailing all the way up to Cairns.

I have been a member of the Botany Bay Yacht Club for over 17years now. Initially as a crewmember and sailing in the Friday night twilight races. Now a boat owner I also compete regularly in the Saturday races and also partake in the Club’s Cruising division activities.

Prior to joining BBYC I was a member of various other clubs but feel that this club is by far the friendliest that I have been involved with. All members are more than happy to share knowledge and experience in all forms of sailing

Botany Bay Yacht Club is a welcoming and inclusive community where everyone feels at home. The members are incredibly friendly, making every visit enjoyable. Racing on the water is exciting and full of fun, whether you’re a beginner or experienced sailor. A fantastic place to connect and sail!
